Prizes for the 2009 series include one week of camp for the overall cumulative high scorer in the little kids division, and the overall cumulative high scorer in the big kids division..... based on 4 weekends with up to two opportunities to compete per child each competition, (water level pending in the boat lake.)
TSR Action Sports and Wakeboarding Camp is a week of non-stop action in a fun-filled supportive environment. TSR staff is professional and experienced, and love to get wild and crazy (or chill out and bond with) your kids. The best coaches, the coolest environment, grandma Becca cooking all homemade meals, the Best boats, lots of new best friends, the newest gear, the top pros passin through, and more love than any kid could dream of getting in a week. We all wish they had mom and dad camp too! Camp value at 2009 rate is $950. Winning week may be used this summer or saved for summer 2010 if you have a special week in mind.
A variety of cool prizes and certificates will be awarded in each division at every competition.... it's a big deal to be a kid, and at TSR... All kids are winners! We would like the monthly 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners to be at the next event (usually showdowns) and take a victory wave for the crowd)
If you have never competed at a kids competition you don't know that it has become our favorite competition at TSR. The pint size athletes work just as hard, and that victory is just as sweet as the winning of the pro rider.
The kids competition at TSR is a most delightful way to spend a Saturday morning.
This year we will follow the competition with an old fashioned burger and hot dog on the bar-b-que hosted by the guys and girls in the Wakezone and the Boardshop at TSR. The competing athletes meal is free all others will be $8.95 for grown up type people, and $5.95 for kids age 13 and under. Dinner includes Marble Slab Ice Cream for Dessert! Let us know when you register if you will be staying for lunch!! It'll be worth it! Nothing's Better than a Burger on the Grill, and that Marble Slab.... oooh my!
How are they judged?
Taking a unique approach to judging, the wakeboarders who score and judge these young riders will look at the number of tricks the athlete does, and how well those tricks are executed. They will also judge the level of complexity in relation to the athlete’s age.
What tricks should my athlete be learning?
In these competitions your child may do some of the more complex tricks the big guys do, but many of the young riders have a limited repertoire to draw on. All tricks count, including waiving to the crowd and the famous “touch the water with one hand”! For some athletes that’s all they’ve mastered, others will jump wake to wake, ride “switch”, and execute killer butter slides and bunny hops. Older, more experience riders will be doing simple tricks, spins and jumps.
What if my child isn’t a great rider?
While the top riders will be “recognized” with small prizes, in the kid’s competitions everyone wins!! Every athlete will receive a “prize pack” and a certificate to recognize their efforts. Young kids are very generous competitors and love to see everyone congratulated for their success.
How do I enter my child?
