Snowboard Park Ground Breaking Ceremony!
Texas Ski Ranch Brings the Snowboarding Experience to Central Texas!
New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an official ground breaking ceremony Feb. 12th for Central Texas’ first and only artificial snow hill!
For Immediate Release NEW BRAUNFELS, TX Texas Ski Ranch (TSR) is excited to announce the newest addition to the 70-acre beachside action sports paradise, a Snowboard Learn to Ride Facility. TSR and Burton Snowboards have joined forces to offer the ultimate snowboarding experience to Central Texans, without snow!
Tuesday, February 12th, join TSR and the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce for the official ground breaking ceremony of Central Texas’ first and only artificial snow hill. TSR will feature Burton learn to ride clinics and private lessons, a terrain park for those looking to progress their skills and a tubing hill perfect for birthday parties or an afternoon of fun.
Snow hill features are specifically designed to teach those who have never set foot on a snowboard before. Beginners will be able to come out and learn to ride before they head to the mountains. All that is learned on the hill will lead to a seamless transition on snow. No more spending the first day of vacation tumbling down the mountain, simply learn before you go!
Here in New Braunfels, snow is just about as rare as a pig in flight. Which is why TSR has turned to Grass Worx for a specially designed SnowSport AstroTurf. The surface materials’ unique combination of pile and ‘springy’ performance has earned an enviable reputation for combining the high quality gliding and edging characteristics best suited to all skiing and snowboarding disciplines.
To ensure the best learning experience, TSR adopted Burton’s official Learn to Ride Program, which focuses on teaching small groups in an environment best suited for the task at hand . . . learning to ride! Whether it’s learning to stand and turn, or progressing to jumps and rails, instructors break it down one step at a time, and focus on individual learning styles for the best personalized experience.
One of the most exciting features in the works is a Riglet Park, a snowboard arena designed specifically for three to six year olds. It is never too early to learn to ride. TSR not only has the training and experience in working with adults and kids of all ages, they have boards, boots and bindings that provide the best start for everyone.
The TSR Snow Hill is expected to be up, running and open to the public for Summer 2013. Learn to ride clinics and the tubing hill will be open for all to experience. Best of all, snowboarding will now be integrated into the after school outdoor recreation program as well as day and overnight summer camps at TSR!
Snow Day at TSR!
It’s a Real SNOW DAY and Christmas on the Beach at TSR!
Texas Ski Ranch beats the winter heat with first annual Snow Day fundraising event! Local non-profits have decorated palm trees at TSR and need your vote to win cash prizes.
Head out to the Texas Ski Ranch for the first annual TSR Snow Day! All are invited to stroll along the beach and enjoy real snow, hot cocoa, arts and crafts and delicious eats. Support a local non-profit by simply placing your vote for your favorite Christmas Palm Tree!
TSR Snow Day is Sunday, December 9th from 2:00-5:00. Local non-profits have decorated the palm trees for Christmas on the Beach. Sledding, snow angels and snowman building encouraged. There will be plenty of arts and crafts for the kids and food and drinks in Wahoo’s for the adults.
TSR’s snowboarding test hill will be open for sledding, and families can learn all about how Burton Snowboards and TSR are bringing snowboarding to Central Texas! Christmas on the Beach decorations will remain up at TSR through the holiday season for all to enjoy!
Palm Tree voting closes at 4:00pm and winners of the decorating contest will be announced at 5:00pm. Judging will be based on three categories. The most votes, most unique tree and most beautiful tree. Local non-profits competing in this year’s event include Canyon Lake Young Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Connections, NBISD Foundation and Any Baby Can.
A special thank you to all local sponsors Boaters Insurance, Verizon Wireless, Guada Coma Foundation, Smokin’ Barrels BBQ Team & Catering and the Texas Ski Ranch.
