2012 Camp TSR
Texas Ski Ranch Action Sport Camps
General Information, Policies and Procedures
- Tuition
- See Registration form to determine your camper’s tuition. A $200 deposit is required to reserve your camper’s space in camp. The balance of the tuition is due 30 days before your camper’s check in date. You may make payments or pay the entire amount at one time. If the final payment is not received by the due date, and a week is full, we may be forced to drop your child to make room for one on the waitlist.
- Registration Form, Camper Physical, TSR Waiver, Spring Loaded Waiver
- We will need to receive the ORIGINAL signed version of the Texas Ski Ranch Waiver, the Spring Loaded Waiver, and all medical forms in the camp packet at least 30 days before check in. If your child was at camp last year, we still need to complete and send in all new forms. We do not keep complete files from year to year. Please mail your paperwork in. It is important that all these forms be filled out completely and correctly so that we can properly attend to your campers need while here at Camp.
- All medications should have your child’s name on them and be given to the director at check-in, with dosing instructions in writing. We ask that campers not self medicate, and we have Tylenol and Advil on hand if needed.
- Pro Shop & Snack Spending Accounts
- You may include money for incidentals when you send in your child’s tuition, or you may establish an account at check in. To open an account, set a spending limit with your child and leave a credit card number with the camp registrar. All withdrawals from your child’s account will be documented for you. The boardshop has everything from sunscreen to boardshorts, caps to stickers. Non-shoppers would be fine with $10. per day ($60), if your child wishes to do a little shopping you may allow more.
- Please do not let your camper keep cash in the bunkhouses, they will not be secure and TSR is not responsible for any losses. Cash may be turned over to the registrar to deposit in the camp bank for safekeeping. Your camper will have access to his or her account throughout the camp day, every day.
- Cancellations
- Deposits are non refundable. Campers who withdraw 60 days or more before check in day are entitled to a refund of all fees paid except $100. of the camp deposit. Non-refundable portions of camp deposits and tuition will go into the Camp TSR Scholarship fund to assist kids in need.
- Those canceling 30 - 60 days prior to check in will forfeit $200. Those canceling 14 - 30 days prior to check in will lose 50% of tuition. Those cancelling 4 - 14 days of check in will lose 75% of all tuition. No refunds will be given for cancellations within 4 days of check in. All tuition that cannot be refunded will go to CAMPTSR scholarship fund.
- Cancellations or reschedules due to severe illness or injury, if received 24 hours prior to check in time, are entitled to receive all fee’s paid, minus $200., if your physician deems your child unfit to attend camp. Written doctor’s order is required in order to receive this refund.
- Absences & Withdrawals
- The camp director reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose influence or conduct is detrimental to the best interest of the program of the program or other campers.
- No refunds will be given for dismissed campers who withdraw for any reason after camp has commenced. The only exception that will be made is if a camper is sent home on doctor’s orders, in which case overnight campers will be refunded $75. and day campers $50. for each remaining full day. Absolutely no refunds after Thursday. If a camper chooses to remain at camp, even if he cannot participate, no adjustments will be made. Campers sent home for bullying, drug or alcohol use, risky behavior or breaking camp rules will forfeit all fees paid.
- Airport Transportation
- Transport from New Braunfels Airport is available for $25. each direction or from the San Antonio International Airport for $50. each direction, per camper. Please contact the registrar to make arrangements at least two weeks before check-in.
- Check In
- Overnight campers should check in at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon. Day camp check in’s will be Monday morning at 8:45. See registration form for details. Plan for heavy traffic through Austin, if you are driving. We will have camp orientation immediately following check-in, then move in and have dinner as a group. The first night is important to meet coaches and new friends, assign equipment, set goals, settle in and prepare for a busy week. Please make sure that your camper is on time. If you arrive early, feel free to grab a bite to eat at Wahoo’s, do a little shopping in the boardshop, or relax on the beach until registration opens at 3:00. No early check-ins please.
- Campers should check in at the main facility. The registrar’s table will be there and counselors will be available to assist with baggage, gear and bedding. Make sure that your campers name is on EVERYTHING.
- Roommate Requests
- In order to accommodate roommate requests, BOTH campers should request each other. Please limit requests to ONE roommate, within one grade level of your camper. For the best interest of ALL campers, we will not guarantee room requests of campers more than one year apart or larger groups. Please add your roommate request to the registration form.
- Phone Calls, Visits, Mail
- Other than during actual check in time (IF your camper needs assistance), parents and visitors will not be permitted to “hang out” at the dorms. Visitors (including parents) are only allowed in the public areas of TSR. You may come watch your camper’s progress from the beach or the balcony at Wahoo’s or the observation deck at Spring Loaded. We request that you not mix, mingle or play with the campers. Remember, the rest of the campers are “on vacation” from their parents. Parents and visitors will NOT be allowed on the boat during camp sessions. If you want to be more involved with your child’s experience, private lessons may be scheduled throughout the year.
- Campers may use the front desk phone to call out in case of emergency. Campers may not receive calls while at camp. Remember, they are on vacation, and you probably miss them more than they will miss you! We will confiscate all cell phones and lock them up for the week, so please consider leaving phones at home.

Beginning at 11:00 you close out your child’s account, load up their gear, or just relax on the beach and enjoy watching your child. Your camper will be ready to leave after the awards ceremony, around 1:15.
